Our school celebrated the 60th Independence Day of India on August 14, 2007. Air Commodore Sanjiv Mishra, SC VSM, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The function started off with the hoisting of the Tri-color, followed by the National Anthem, Vande Mataram and the Air Force Song, sung most enthusiastically by the students.

The students expressed their abundant love for their motherland in several ways-a patriotic Hindi poem recited by Somi Bahugana, a short speech by the Head Girl, Sweta Baduni, two songs sung full throatedly by the School Choir, one of them accompaniment of dance movement by students of classes VI and VII. The School Head-Boy, Shahbaz Khan led the school in undertaking a pledge to safeguard the integrity of the nation.
The chief guest in his short speech urged the students to realize that the baton of responsibilities would soon be passed to the younger generation and they should get ready for bearing these responsibilities. Remembering Pt. Nehru’s words being of India “an ancient yet ever new nation”, they should retain their traditional values while moving on the on the path of modernization. The function ended with the vote of thanks by the Head-Boy.
